December 6th is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. In 1991, the Canadian Government established this day, marking the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal.
They died because they were women.
As a community, please join us in spirit, thought and prayer at noon for a moment of silence as we remember the thousands of women and girls who lose their lives to gender-based violence every year.
Together, we can make a difference.
