Event Description

To attend an All Candidates Meeting focusing on COMPASSION and SOCIAL JUSTICE

Gilmore Park United Church
(corner of Blundell and #1 Road)
Monday, October 5th, 2015
6:30 to 9:00 pm

Candidates from the Liberal, NDP and Green parties in both Richmond ridings have committed to attend. Conservative candidates as yet have not accepted the invitation.
Questions will relate to (for example) issues of:
- affordable housing
- violence against women and children
- health care as it affects our most vulnerable citizens
- national poverty reduction strategies
- response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission,
- Canada's role in International Development.

In an attempt to show our local candidates that we place great value on issues of social justice, we are inviting Richmond faith communities and other community groups to endorse this event. There is no financial commitment as hosting costs have already been covered by some of the participating groups. We would simply list your group's name on the program as one of the Partners in a Caring Community - concerned about issues of compassion and social justice here in Richmond, in our nation and the world.

We ask your support in spreading the word about this important community event.

Partners to Date: RIchmond Poverty Response Committee, Gilmore Park United Church, Canadian Federation of University Women (Richmond), Kairos, and Amnesty International.

If you wish your group's name to be listed on our program (not the poster), or if you have any questions, please contact one of the co-chairs:
