Vancouver Celebrates Women in the Year of Reconciliation with Poster Series

The City of Vancouver and the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation will mark International Women’s Day with events to celebrate and acknowledge the 2014 Remarkable Women honourees. The Remarkable Women poster series began in 2008 and recognizes Vancouver women who have served their community in an exceptional way.

When: Saturday, March 8, 2014

Where: Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre Performance Centre, 181 Roundhouse Mews

What: Ceremony 2 - 3 pm (Performance Centre) and reception 3 - 4 pm (Exhibition Hall)

Who: 2014 Remarkable Women honourees 

With the goals of Vancouver’s Year of Reconciliation at its heart, the Remarkable Women 2014 poster series celebrates women who are leaders in making our communities stronger by standing up to adversity and embracing diversity. They are bridge builders, advocates and peace makers - community makers who foster healing, support and respect for all people.

These 12 women were selected from over 100 nominations to be represented on the poster series:

The 12 posters are on display in in Vancouver community centres, libraries, schools, and other public buildings leading up to International Women’s Day on March 8.
