Profile Information

If this applies to you, please describe your involvement in women's memorial making/violence prevention?: I wrote and directed Finding Dawn (NFB 2006), a documentary about the epidemic of missing and murdered Aboriginal women across Canada. I continue to be involved in working to end violence against Indigenous women by showing the film to groups and communities in both Canada and the US.

If this applies to you, what is the name of your group or project or memorial? (Or is it now ROSE?): Finding Dawn

If applicable, how long have you been involved in women's memorial making/violence prevention?: In different ways, my entire career as a filmmaker and educator has involved working to create respect and dignity for Indigenous women in Canada and around the world.

What changes for women would you like to see happen?: I would like our young women to enjoy the safety and security and opportunities they need to work and strive for a better world for all our people.
