In Memory of Helen Slichta

One year ago today my mom and best friend lost her life at the hands of a monster!

He broke in to my home and attacked myself and my daughter with a hammer

and hit my mom over the head with a hammer and slashed her throat with a knife. she died

as a result. God Bless her and today marks the one year anniversary of this horrific

tragedy and the loss of a wonderful lady who always was there for me.

Thanks for the warm welcome Heather. I feel this is a great place to tell our stories and sharing them can help others deal with their stories. It is conforting to know we are not alone.

Hi Heather,
I am still getting some signatures. The Richmond Women's resource Centre has some, and I will ask that they be sent to you. As Chris wrote your story touches people and they are happy to sign.
Peace to you and your family.

Dear Heather,
I am deeply moved by your story. Thank you for your courage in sharing this with visitors to ROSE.
Please have a look at the Groups section. I added the petition in there, it's a start. If you want additions or changes just let me know. I asked people at work to sign the petition and filled a whole sheet, my first one. My co-workers were also very moved and wanted to help. They felt strongly that the police and the courts should do more.
I wrote Avaaz and asked then to help with the online petition and am now waiting to hear back.
Wishing you and your family peace,
Chris
