If this applies to you, please describe your involvement in women's memorial making/violence prevention?
I work for the Ontario Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Strategy. With in our programs, we find that violence against our Indigenous women is huge. We teach safety measures for the women & as it is huge for women living with HIV we also work close with them. It may not apply to what you are asking but still very important as a one on one. I also have grew up on the streets of East End of Van. Long time ago but sometimes seams like yesterday. I have had friends who were MMIW. I support all women in Violence Prevention!
If this applies to you, what is the name of your group or project or memorial? (Or is it now ROSE?)
Lana Parenteau
If applicable, how long have you been involved in women's memorial making/violence prevention?
As I also have endured violence for many years, I teach women all the time.
What changes for women would you like to see happen?
I have seen changes but still women need the education that you don't need to go through this.
