In Memory of Helen Slichta

One year ago today my mom and best friend lost her life at the hands of a monster!

He broke in to my home and attacked myself and my daughter with a hammer

and hit my mom over the head with a hammer and slashed her throat with a knife. she died

as a result. God Bless her and today marks the one year anniversary of this horrific

tragedy and the loss of a wonderful lady who always was there for me.

One year has gone but the memories that still are fresh as if this happened

yesterday, and the pain is not gone.

The whole left side of my face was broken in and i lost my left eye

as well, but the doctors did an amazing job of rebuilding my face.

Everyone tells me i am a strong person but right now i do not feel so strong!

but keep putting one foot in front of the other and carry forward.

and also with our petition going around that i am really hopeful and cannot wait

to march up the walk of parliament hill with media coverage as well.

My mom was a wonderful lady at the age of 71 she was so active and always

in the garden planting and digging and what not, and always did my garden

in the house every year!!! she is very much missed by everyone and always

in our thoughts. Wow hard to believe that one year today my life and my daughters

life changed a whole lot.
